SHG Seller Policy & Marketplace Seller Agreement
This Seller Policy governs the participation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), rural entrepreneurs, and producers who sell products through the MahaBachatGat marketplace platform.
By registering as a seller on MahaBachatGat, the SHG agrees to comply with the following terms and conditions.
1. Seller Eligibility
Only the following entities may register as sellers on MahaBachatGat:
• Registered Self Help Groups (SHGs)
• Women entrepreneur groups approved by MahaBachatGat
• Rural producer groups approved by MahaBachatGat
• Individual rural artisans approved by MahaBachatGat
Sellers must provide accurate registration details including:
• SHG name
• Contact details
• Bank account information
• Identity and verification documents if required.
2. Seller Responsibilities
Each SHG seller is responsible for:
• Listing genuine products
• Maintaining accurate product descriptions
• Managing product pricing
• Managing stock availability
• Packing and shipping products
• Handling order fulfillment
• Maintaining product quality
Sellers must ensure that all information provided to customers is true, accurate and not misleading.
3. Product Listing Rules
Sellers must follow these guidelines when listing products:
• Provide clear product titles
• Upload accurate product photographs
• Mention correct product weight, quantity, and specifications
• Mention ingredients for food products
• Provide manufacturing and expiry details where applicable
The following products are not allowed on the platform:
• Illegal goods
• Counterfeit or copied products
• Hazardous or restricted items
• Expired food products
• Any product violating Indian laws.
MahaBachatGat reserves the right to remove any product listing that violates these rules.
4. Pricing Policy
SHG sellers are free to set their own product prices.
However, sellers should ensure:
• Prices are fair and transparent
• Prices include applicable taxes if required
• Any additional charges such as shipping are clearly mentioned
MahaBachatGat may provide pricing guidance to help SHGs remain competitive in the marketplace.
5. Order Processing
Once an order is received:
• The seller must confirm the order
• The product should be packed safely
• The order should be dispatched within 2–3 working days
Failure to dispatch orders in a timely manner may affect seller ratings or account status.
6. Shipping Responsibility
SHG sellers are responsible for arranging shipping through their preferred courier partners.
Sellers must:
• Use reliable courier services
• Provide tracking details where possible
• Ensure safe packaging to avoid damage during transit.
7. Returns & Refunds
Sellers must comply with the MahaBachatGat Return & Refund Policy.
If a return request is approved due to:
• damaged product
• defective product
• wrong product delivered
the seller must cooperate in resolving the issue through replacement or refund.
8. Customer Communication
Sellers are expected to maintain professional communication with customers.
Sellers should:
• respond to customer queries
• cooperate with customer support
• maintain courteous behavior
Harassment, abusive language, or misleading communication is strictly prohibited.
9. Seller Performance & Ratings
Customer satisfaction is important for marketplace trust.
Seller performance may be evaluated based on:
• delivery timeliness
• product quality
• customer feedback
• order fulfillment rate
MahaBachatGat may suspend or deactivate seller accounts that consistently fail to maintain acceptable performance standards.
10. Commission & Platform Fees
MahaBachatGat may charge applicable platform service fees or commission for orders processed through the marketplace.
Applicable charges will be communicated to sellers through the seller dashboard or official communication.
11. Compliance with Laws
Sellers must comply with all applicable Indian laws including:
• food safety regulations (if applicable)
• labelling requirements
• GST or tax regulations where applicable.
Sellers are responsible for maintaining required licenses or certifications for their products.
12. Account Suspension or Termination
MahaBachatGat reserves the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts in case of:
• policy violations
• repeated order failures
• fraudulent activities
• selling prohibited products.
13. Role of MahaBachatGat
MahaBachatGat acts as a digital marketplace facilitator connecting SHG sellers with buyers.
Product ownership, quality, shipping, and fulfillment responsibilities rest with the individual SHG sellers.
14. Policy Updates
MahaBachatGat may update or revise this Seller Policy periodically to improve platform governance and marketplace transparency.
