Seller Guide
Purpose
• Enable SHGs to run their own online shop • Help SHGs upload and sell products independently • Maintain product quality and order discipline • Create sustainable income for SHGs .
1. Seller Login & Store Access
Every SHG gets a seller Account on MBG. Login Steps: • Open MBG portal • Click Seller Login • Enter: Username & Password • Click Login After login the Seller Dashboard opens. .
2. Seller Dashboard (Control Center)
The Dashboard is the main control center of the SHG shop. What SHG sees here: • Orders Summary • Sales Amount • Product Count • Low Stock Products • Recent Orders • Messages from Admin What SHG must do daily: Every morning check: • New orders • Messages • Product stock alerts Why Dashboard is important: It helps SHG understand: • How many products sold • Which products are popular • Whether new orders arrived .
3. Media Section (Product Photos Library)
The Media Library stores images used for: • Products • Articles • Store banner How to upload images Dashboard → Media → Upload Select photo from: Mobile, Computer Photo Quality Guidelines: Good photos increase sales. Correct method: • Natural daylight • Plain background • Product clearly visible Avoid: • Dark photos • Blurry photos • Busy background Recommended photo format: • JPG / PNG • Recommended size • 1000 × 1000 pixels
4. Articles (Stories / Blog)
Articles help SHGs build trust with customers. SHGs can write about: • How products are made • Story of SHG • Traditional recipes • Village craft traditions Steps to create article • Dashboard → Articles → Add Article • Enter: Title, Content, Photo, Click Publish • Example article: "How our SHG prepares traditional papad"
5. Product Management (Most Important Section)
This section allows SHGs to create and manage products. Menu: Dashboard → Products Here seller can: Add product, Edit product, Delete product, Manage stock .
5.1 Add New Product
Steps: • Go to Products • Click Add New A product form opens. .
5.2 Product Name
Steps: Choose a clear and searchable name. Example: • Bad name: Pickle • Good name: Homemade Mango Pickle 500g • Better name: Traditional Homemade Mango Pickle – Village Style – 500g .
5.3 Product Description
Must explain: • Ingredients • Weight • Shelf life • Usage Example: This mango pickle is prepared using traditional village recipe using natural spices and cold-pressed oil.
5.4 Short Description
• This appears on the product page near the price. Example: Homemade mango pickle prepared by women SHG using traditional recipe.
5.5 Product Categories
• When start adding new product, you will find category list on right side. Always choose the correct category. : • Select appropriate product category to help customers find products easily.: Example: Food Products, Pickles, Papad, Spices, Snacks, Handicraft, Bags, Decor items, Handmade products, Textiles, Sarees, Handloom,
5.6 Product Tags
• Tags help search engines and customers. Example tags: homemade, organic, village food, traditional
5.7 Product Images
• Upload multiple images. Minimum: 3 images Best practice: 5 images. Photo Style: • Front product photo • Close-up photo • Packaging photo • Usage photo • Group photo
5.8 Product Price
Enter: • Regular price: ₹200 • Optional Sale price: ₹170 This shows discount on product page.
5.9 Inventory (Stock Management)
Enter: Stock means how many items are available. Example: • Stock quantity = 50 • When order happens: Stock automatically reduces. • Important rule: Always update stock correctly. .
5.10 Shipping Weight
Shipping companies calculate cost based on weight. Example: • 500 g pickle jar • Weight = 0.5 kg
6. Order Management
Orders appear in Orders section. • Menu → Dashboard → Orders Each order contains: • Customer name • Delivery address • Product name • Quantity • Payment status
6.1 Order Status Types
• Pending • Order received but not processed. • Processing • Seller preparing order. • Completed • Order shipped or delivered. • Cancelled • Customer cancelled order. • Refunded • Money returned.
6.2 Order Processing SOP
• Step 1: Open new order. • Step 2: Check delivery address. • Step 3: Pack product carefully. • Step 4: Ship product. • Step 5: Mark order Completed. .
7. Packing Guidelines
SHG must maintain professional packaging. Food products: Use food-grade packaging. • Include label • Product name • Weight • Manufacturing date • Expiry date • Handicrafts • Use: Bubble wrap, Strong box 500g .
8. Coupons (Discount Offers)
Example: This mango pickle is prepared using traditional village recipe using natural spices and cold-pressed oil. Coupons help increase sales. Menu → Dashboard → Coupons Example: Festival discount coupon. Steps: • Create coupon code. • Example: MBG10 • Discount: 10% • Expiry date: 30 days
9. Customers Section
• This appears on the product page near the price. Example: Homemade mango pickle prepared by women SHG using traditional recipe. This shows customers who bought products. Information available: • Customer name • Orders placed • Contact details • Benefits • Repeat customers • Bulk orders
10. Refund Management
Customers may request refunds if • Product damaged • Wrong product sent • Late delivery • Seller must review refund request. • Seller options • Approve refund • Reject refund with explanation Admin can intervene if dispute arises.
11. Store Settings
This is where SHG configures their shop details. Menu → Settings → Store 11.1 Store Name Example: Sakhi Mahila Bachat Gat Foods or Laxmi SHG Village Products 11.2 Store Description Example: We are a women self-help group producing traditional homemade foods and handicrafts from rural Assam. 11.3 Store Logo Upload SHG logo or group photo. Recommended size: 300 × 300 px 11.4 Store Banner Banner appears on store page. Example: Group photo or product collage. 11.5 Contact Details Customers can directly contact SHG. Enter: Phone number, Email 11.6 Store Address Helps buyers know product origin. Enter: Village, Taluka, District, State
12. Payment Settings
Seller must enter bank details. This is required for seller payments. Required fields: • Bank name • Account number • IFSC code • Account holder name
13. Withdrawal Requests
Seller earnings accumulate in account. Admin verifies and transfers money. To receive payment go to Dashboard → Withdrawal • Enter amount • Submit request.
14. Shipping Settings
Define shipping cost. Seller must define shipping zones. Example: • Within district ₹40 • Within state ₹70 • Rest of India ₹100
15. SEO Settings
SEO means making products visible on Google. Seller can add: • Product keywords • Short description • Example keywords: homemade pickle, village food, traditional papad
16. Store Policies
Every store must define • Shipping policy • Return policy • Cancellation policy Example: Returns accepted within 3 days if product damaged.
17. Ledger Book
Ledger shows financial transactions. SHGs should check ledger weekly. This includes, • Total sales • Platform commission • Seller earnings • Withdrawals
